Are you overweight?

Do you think that you are overweight? Are you sure? We all should do exercise for good health no matter which size are we. But if you are not overweight, you don’t have to start diet.

Body mass index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to adult both men and women. It is an indicator of weight control. BMI formula in metric system:

BMI = (Weight in Kgs. / ((Height in Meters) x (Height in Meters)) )

If your BMI <= 18.5, then you are underweight.
If your BMI is between 18.5 – 24.9, then you weight is normal.
If your BMI is between 25.0 – 29.9, then you are overweight.
If your BMI is between 30.0 – 34.9 , then you are obesity I.
If your BMI is between 35.0 – 39.9 , then you are obesity II.
If your BMI is >= 40.0, then you are obesity III

For example: If your weight is 55 kg. and your height is 153 cm.

Your BMI = 55/(1.53*1.53) = 23.5 —> normal weight.

Adult can’t increase height. So, all we can do is control our weight. Most girls think that they are not slim enough but actually they are in good shape already. Don’t be crazy to sacrifice yourself to slimmer popularity society. Good health and  happy heart is more important than wieght.

If you reverse the formula, you can see resonable weight.

Weight in Kgs. = BMI x (Height in Meters) x (Height in Meters)

If your BMI is between 18.5 – 24.9, then you weight is normal.

18.5 x 1.53 x 1.53 = 43.3 kg.
24.9 x 1.53 x 1.53 = 58.2 kg. 

For height 1.53 m. resonable weight is between 43.3 kg. – 58.2 kg.

A good weight control plan should be a normal plan that you can use it for whole life not only two weeks. We all have common sense about good food and bad food. Balance all groups, control total calories per day, and do enough exercise.
